Although the whole Bible is the Word of God — all 66 Books — the Gospel according to John and the Epistle to the Romans were given specifically to show how you could receive eternal life. For the sake of brevity this Study is confined to these two Books. Any reference to other parts of the Bible will be written out for you.
The Bible begins with God. It does not set out to prove His existence. After all, if He doesn’t exist, there is no reason to study what He says in His Word. The only requirement God lays down for you is found in Hebrews chapter 11, verse 6 — “he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” If you will approach this Bible study with the simple acknowledgement that God IS, He will reward your efforts by revealing Himself and His gift of eternal life to you.

14. The Law of God is summarized by what is commonly known as the “Ten Commandments.” These were first written in Exodus 20:3-17, and are listed below (together with some explanatory scriptures):
THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME. “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment” — Mark 12:30. THOU SHALT NOT MAKE UNTO THEE ANY GRAVEN IMAGE. “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows” — I Timothy 6:10. THOU SHALT NOT TAKE THE NAME OF THE LORD THY GOD IN VAIN. “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking” — Matthew 6:7. REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, TO KEEP IT HOLY. “He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord” — Romans 14:6. HONOUR THY FATHER AND THY MOTHER. “For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy” — II Timothy 3:2. THOU SHALT NOT KILL (murder). “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I [Jesus] say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment” — Matthew 5:21-22. THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT ADULTERY. “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart” — Matthew 5:27-28. THOU SHALT NOT STEAL. “Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings” — Malachi 3:8. THOU SHALT NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS (lie). “If we say that we have fellowship with him [God] , and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth” — I John 1:6. THOU SHALT NOT COVET (desire what is not yours). “And he [Jesus] said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth” — Luke 12:15.

Thank you for completing this first study. We hope it was informative and helpful to you. It has introduced the subject of eternal life by focusing on the great issue that separates man from a holy God: SIN! Sin (in all its forms and faces) divides, detracts and destroys — both in this life and the next. Revelation 20:14-15 speaks of a second death that separates us from God for all of eternity.
